Cherie Ekholm

Cherie Ekholm began working on PDF standards in 2007 while working at Microsoft in the Office business unit. Cherie represented Microsoft in WG5, WG7, WG 8, and WG9, as well as on the AIIM Standards Board.  She was the Project Lead for ISO 14289-1 and much of the 32000-2 work. In 2015, she left Microsoft and opened her own businesses, one of which was consulting with small accessibility-related businesses and non-profits. She also began teaching and doing individual training for an online school. She maintained her membership on the PDF committees during that time, as well as continuing to follow several other standards efforts. In January 2022, Cherie joined Verisk Analytics as a PDF Forensics Specialist, working on new projects to detect and prevent fraudulent use of PDFs in insurance claims, while maintaining her consulting business and continuing to teach.
