Adobe hat heute zweieinhalb Jahre nach Acrobat XI eine neue Version des PDF-Programms angekündigt. Als Teil einer Cloud-Lösung für Dokumente wird die neue Version dann nicht fortlaufend mit einer Nummer benannt, sondern "Acrobat DC" heißen, wobei "DC" für Document Cloud steht.
Acrobat DC ist für den Einsatz mit Touch-Bedienoberflächen geeigent und es wird auch Versionen für mobile Endgeräte geben. Die neue Reader-Version bekommt den Namen "Acrobat Reader DC".
Wie schon von der Creative Cloud bekannt, wird Acrobat künftig über ein Abomodell bereit gestellt. Anwender der (kompletten) Creative Cloud erhalten das neue Acrobat als Teil ihres Programmangebots.
Der Veröffentlichungstermin der Software ist für April zu erwarten.
