Short description:
Although there are more and more tagged PDFs, there are very few accessible PDFs that truly provide equal access for different groups of people with disabilities, as required by law. This is due to certain myths that are circulating, and to some of the pitfalls of implementing PDF accessibility. These include, for example:
- Misconceived usability for a specific user group that excludes other user groups.
- Limited possibilities for programs to create appropriate semantics.
- Disregarding the requirements for re-use and text extraction.
The presentation names the myths and pitfalls and provides concrete demo examples from the perspective of those affected.
