2018 PDF 2.0 Interop Workshop

The PDF Association staff delivers a vendor-neutral platform in service of PDF’s stakeholders.
Following the success of our previous interop workshops in Cambridge, England and Boston, Massachusetts, the 3rd PDF 2.0 Interop Workshop takes place on May 16, 2018 as part of the post-conference program immediately following this year's PDF Days Europe, in Berlin.
PDF 2.0 is new enough that nobody is shipping tools to create PDF 2.0 files yet. You can make your own samples, but if you make samples to test your own code you may miss issues due to similar assumptions. PDF interop workshops provide a way to solve that problem by providing a setting for developers to identify ambiguities, discover solutions and reach consensus on the meaning and application of ISO standards for PDF technology.
Following the 2nd PDF 2.0 interop workshop in Boston, the PDF Association has established a JIRA instance as a tracking system for participants to file samples, ask questions and report results. This made it much easier for those exchanging test-files and reports to follow what was happening, even with remote attendees.
Feedback was good for both of our previous interop events, with most participants saying that the information they’d gained had met their expectations.
The 3rd PDF 2.0 Interop Workshop: May 16, 2018
Located in the same hotel as PDF Days Europe, the PDF Association provides the necessary facilities for up to 40 developers to share their test-files and results on-site:
- Vendor-neutral workshop manangement
- Meeting facilities
- Internet access
Several members of the ISO committee for PDF technology (TC 171 SC 2 WG 8), including Global Graphics' Martin Bailey, who led the previous two interops, and Dual Labs' Boris Doubrov, architect of veraPDF, will lead the event, and will be available to discuss the specification with participants.
This PDF 2.0 interop workshop is free! It's a perfect complement for those attending PDF Days Europe 2018 on May 14-15.
