PDF Forensics LWG

PDF documents may be found everywhere… and that includes, as evidence in court-cases, criminal investigations, as targets for research and many other applications in which those who are not experts in PDF technology nonetheless have questions or concerns regarding internal aspects of PDF technology.

This Liaison Working Group is a meeting-place for interface between PDF technology industry members and forensics experts to help drive common understandings on analysis of PDF files and to provide feedback to the industry as a whole. As its organizing purpose the group will undertake to develop a guidance document containing authoritative best-practice guidance for those engaging in forensic analysis of PDF files.

This members-only technical resource lists various PDF-aware forensic tools that allow technical examination, editing, and/ or low-level technical analysis of general PDF files.
