PDF Technology MWG
Background
Specifically, the MWG supports enhanced awareness of new content from the TWGs and LWGs. The MWG will work to present these technical topics in end user terms on pdfa.org, including application scenarios and highlighting key benefits. Some of these insights are already available in the presentation archive.
The MWG will also advise the PDF Association on optimizing the website to deliver maximum value to PDF Association members.
As such the MWG operates as an accompaniment to the further development of the PDF Association as a Standards Development Organization (SDO).
Objective
The mission of the PDF Technology Marketing Working Group (MWG) is to promote PDF technology and the technical work of the PDF Association as the home of the worldwide PDF technical community.
Status
As of Q1 2026 key subjects currently under discussion include, but are not limited to:
- Promote the market survey results
- Webinar on presenting the results
- Ongoing support and promotion of the PDF community
- Promote the RichMedia webinar
Accomplishments
- Assistance to improve the product showcase
- Market survey (this was the major work in 2025)
- Article Positioning PDF 2.0 in 2024
How to participate in the Working Group
It’s possible to participate in the Working Group without attending meetings!
- Working group members may attend the working group’s online meetings – currently on the first Thursday of the month, 1605–1700 CET / 1005–1100 ET / 0705–0800 PT, or review meeting notes and recordings of previous calls.
The PDF Technology MWG is open to all PDF Association Individual, Full and Partner members.
Join this working group to:
- Participate via the mailing list and view mailing list archives
- Participate in the approval and publication process
- Access meeting recordings and notes
- Access and provide comments on related ISO documents
PDF Association members can join the PDF Technology MWG by visiting the Member Area and clicking “Manage Working Groups”.
