About iLovePDF
iLovePDF has released version 2.2.0 of its Desktop application for both Windows and macOS, delivering important new capabilities for professional PDF workflows along with a broad set of user-experience enhancements.

New: Redact PDF
The highlight of this release is the addition of a full Redaction tool, enabling users to permanently remove sensitive text, graphics, and other information from PDF documents. This feature is designed for organizations that need secure information handling across legal, financial, and compliance-driven environments.
By applying redaction at the content level rather than simply overlaying masks, the tool helps ensure that sensitive data cannot be recovered from the underlying PDF structure.
Improved PDF Reader
The integrated PDF reader has undergone a comprehensive review across performance, rendering, and compatibility layers. This includes:
- Improved rendering consistency with complex PDF constructs
- Performance optimizations for large documents
- General UX refinements to streamline reading and annotation tasks
These updates collectively strengthen conformance with a broad spectrum of PDF content variations encountered in real-world workflows.
MSI/MSIX Unattended Installation
We’ve updated the MSI/MSIX packages to fully support unattended deployment. IT admins can now install, update, and configure iLovePDF Desktop silently across their organization, with support for all 25 interface languages.
“New” Indicators
Newly added tools will now be automatically surfaced with a “New” badge, improving toolchain transparency in multi-feature PDF environments.
macOS: Signature and Certificate Validation
Version 2.2.0 also expands trust-related functionality on macOS with signature detection and certificate validation capabilities. This allows users to inspect digital signatures, assess trust chains, and validate certificate status; important steps for workflows involving authenticated or legally binding PDFs.
