PDF Association gets new Board, new Chair

As CEO, Duff coordinates industry activities and promotes the advancement and adoption of PDF technology worldwide.
During PDF Days Europe 2016, the PDF Association members gathered in Berlin (and on the phone) to elect a new Board of Directors at the annual members meeting. The members thanked the previous two-term chairman, callas softwares Olaf Drümmer, with a lifetime membership for his service to the PDF Association and to the industry as a whole.
The new Board represents a diverse range of companies in the PDF technology space, including those providing desktop software, cloud services, business applications, toolkits, services and more.
The composition of the Board has changed. Although still 10 members, the Board now includes five from Europe and five from North America. Companies represented on the Board of Directors include: Adlib Software, Adobe Systems, callas software, Datalogics, DocuSign, Intarsys, Levigo, LuraTech (a unit of Foxit), Nitro and Satz-Rechen-Zentrum Berlin.
The Board includes several direct competitors, highlighting the importance of cooperation in an industry where interoperability attention to standards is the foundation of the value proposition of PDF technology.
Following PDF Days Europe 2016, the Board met to elect a new Chair and Vice Chair and to discuss the organizations strategy and activities. For the first time, both the new Chair (Matt Kuznicki, Datalogics CTO) and Vice Chair (Scott Mackey, Adlib Softwares VP for Customer Success) are from North America.
Several new initiatives were discussed and approved; details to follow as they become available. As before, the Board will continue to meet monthly to discuss progress towards objectives, and to review the reports and activities of the PDF Association staff.
Its an exciting time to be in PDF technology!
