Organizations handling sensitive documents face a common hurdle when integrating automated PDF workflows: balancing processing speed and functionality with strict privacy and data-residency requirements. Deploying workloads to public cloud services is often not an option for regulated industries, making self-hosted infrastructure essential.
To solve this challenge, pdfRest has made the pdfRest API Toolkit Container Image BYOL available on the AWS Marketplace. Delivered as a Docker container, our Container Image deployment option allows development teams to run the complete pdfRest engine, built on the Adobe PDF Library, directly within their own Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) clusters.
Total Data Sovereignty within Your VPC
By deploying our Container Image inside a private Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), organizations ensure that sensitive documents, extracted data, and metadata never leave their controlled infrastructure. This deployment model supports strict compliance frameworks while maintaining complete control over network security, access policies, and data retention.
- SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA Alignment: Engineered for enterprise environments, the platform maintains audited security controls and supports HIPAA-aligned deployments.
- Native AWS Integration: Fits into existing continuous integration, deployment pipelines, and autoscaling groups across Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS.
- Full Processing Suite: Exposes 40+ REST API endpoints to convert, compress, extract, redact, sign, and archive documents with high performance.
Scalable Architecture for Enterprise Workloads
Our Container Image deployment option provides the flexibility needed for high-volume document pipelines. Whether supporting asynchronous background tasks or real-time application features, infrastructure can scale horizontally across clusters to handle fluctuating demand without introducing third-party network latency.
Developers gain access to the same standardized REST API syntax available in the pdfRest cloud product, making it straightforward to migrate existing workflows or build new ones without rewriting application logic.
Flexible BYOL Licensing
The AWS Marketplace listing operates on a Bring Your Own License (BYOL) model. Organizations supply a pdfRest license key to activate our Container Image deployment option, with license fees handled directly with pdfRest rather than billed through AWS Marketplace. Cloud infrastructure costs remain separate and are billed through AWS as usual.
Getting Started
Setting up our Container Image deployment option inside your AWS environment takes only a few minutes. You can review full deployment details and product specifications on pdfRest.
