Ángel Carmona Galán

I am an experienced programmer who has progressed through roles that include Intern, Software Engineer, Technical Team Lead, and Head of Software. Since 2019 I have worked in the PDF technology space, spending five years at a well known company in the sector. I focused on the desktop application, which operated offline with some online features, and I built and integrated a PDF viewer as part of its functionality. I evaluated PDF libraries from different vendors and integrated them into the application. I also worked on the REST API and created Python utilities for benchmarking, performance comparisons, and output quality evaluation. I have experience in C, C++, Python, Java, C#, among others, and in bridging PDF SDKs into complex workflows. I am currently studying the full PDF specification set to broaden and deepen my domain expertise.

Capabilities

I have in depth experience with desktop applications, web (more focused on backend, but I can do full-stack), API development, and the integration of PDF libraries from multiple vendors. I learn quickly and adapt to any technology, old or modern, and to any project. I support new feature implementation, maintenance tasks, testing and automation, benchmarking, and code reviews. I have broad knowledge across C, C++, Python, Java, and C#, among others.

Availability

I am available for hourly work, project based work, or full time. I am open to short term or long term collaborations. I live in Spain and have broad availability, including for working with clients in timezones different from my own.
