Iacobien Riezebosch
Iacobien Riezebosch works as a freelance expert in digital accessibility, focusing on two pillars: the organization-wide approach to digital accessibility, and the accessibility of documents. She works with clients in both the public sector and the private sector. She helps organizations put digital accessibility on the map — making the topic come alive and ensuring they know who needs to be involved internally, what they need to do to make their digital services inclusive, and how to comply with the law. She also supports organizations in procurement and the evaluation of software for accessibility.
She has been working in digital accessibility for over two decades — as an advisor, researcher, international speaker, trainer, and author. She contributes to the PDF Association’s PDF Accessibility Liaison Working Group, which develops accessible techniques for PDFs. She is the author of the widely read publication Web Accessibility in Your Organisation: Roles and Responsibilities Web Accessibility in the Public Sector, published by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior in both English and Dutch. She publishes on documenten-en-toegankelijkheid.nl.
Iacobien started her career in digital accessibility in 2002 as a technical researcher evaluating websites against WCAG standards. Since then, she has taken on many different roles and positions in digital accessibility.
Iacobien speaks English, German, and Dutch.
