When PDF is production critical

Graphic arts is an industry built on PDF files, fully relying on their quality. What does that mean and what can other industries take away from that?

Session description

Print is booming in areas such as packaging, label and display. Modern prepress and print workflows relying on the PDF format have far reaching requirements on quality of internal structure and additional content such as cut marks or bleed that is needed for production.

In this session I’ll explore how the PDF format has shaped prepress, why standards are so important in this world, what challenges still exist and what future developments may further the industry.
