In modern environments, binding software licenses to specific hardware or virtual servers no longer works. Containerized deployments, auto-scaling, and optimized infrastructures require software to run wherever capacity is available. callas License Server addresses this by decoupling where software processes files from where it is licensed.
Automated callas products can be licensed through License Server using a maximum number of parallel processes or a credit-based model equivalent to processing time. Parallel processes typically cover baseline workloads, while credits allow temporary scaling to handle peaks. In both cases, CLI and SDK products can be installed and run on any system that can communicate with the License Server.
Desktop callas products can also be licensed through License Server. In this scenario, licenses are managed as floating licenses, allowing installation on multiple systems while the License Server enforces the maximum number of simultaneous users.
