WhatsApp adds support for PDF before other formats
Duff started working with PDF in 1996 when he founded Document Solutions, Inc. in Oakland, California.
Today, as CEO of the PDF Association, Duff coordinates industry activities in support of PDF technology.
Duff also serves in technical roles as Project Leader for ISO 14289 (PDF/UA) and as Project co-Leader for ISO 32000 (the PDF specification). He chairs the US Technical Advisory Committee (TAG) for ISO TC 171 SC 2, and serves as its Head of Delegation.

The latest releases of the phenomenally-popular messaging applications has started adding support sending and receiving documents using their acclaimed Messenger application.
WhatsApp is starting with PDF, as their latest release for Android makes clear.
Sending a document on WhatsApp is quite easy - tap on the attachment icon on any chat and select the new blue Document icon.
ZDnet says that an update for iOS, dated February 28, doesn't mention PDF-sharing per se, but refers to photos and videos.
