Announcing the PDF Forensics LWG
The PDF Association has established a new Liaison Working Group (LWG) to serve as a place for forensics experts and PDF technology industry professionals to develop best practices on forensic examination of PDF files.PDF documents are everywhere… and that includes court-cases, criminal investigations, research targets and many other applications in which those who are not experts in PDF technology nonetheless have questions or concerns regarding internal aspects of PDF technology.
Responding to a request from a government agency, the PDF Association has established a new Liaison Working Group is a meeting-place for interface between PDF technology industry members and forensics experts to (a) help drive common understandings on analysis of PDF files and (b) provide feedback to the industry as a whole.
As its organizing purpose the group will undertake to develop a guidance document containing authoritative best-practice guidance for those engaging in forensic analysis of PDF files.
Joining the PDF Forensics LWG
PDF Association members can join the PDF Forensics LWG in the same way as they may any other, via the Member Area on pdfa.org.
Apply for membership: Non-profit organizations wishing to monitor or participate in the PDF Forensics LWG may apply to become Liaison members of the PDF Association at no cost. Organizations professionally engaged in digital document forensics may opt for low-cost Institutional membership, which also provides access to Technical Working Groups in addition to Liaison Working Groups.
