Two things worth doing first

If your PDF is a scan or a photo of a page, the text is stored as an image. Running it through OCR first gives you a much cleaner conversion.

And think about what’s in the document before you convert. If it contains sensitive details you’d rather not carry into a Markdown file or an AI tool, redact it properly first — a black box drawn over text isn’t redaction, and the text underneath comes through the conversion intact.
