Dietrich von Seggern

Dietrich von Seggern is CEO at callas software, a role he has held since 2016. He joined callas in 2002, initially leading product management before taking responsibility for business development and OEM partnerships. Throughout his career, Dietrich has focused on how PDF technology can be applied reliably and at scale in demanding production environments.
Dietrich holds a degree in printing technology and began his professional career overseeing a prepress department before moving into large-scale industry projects. He later led initiatives for the digital transmission of print files within the German newspaper industry, gaining early experience with automation, standardization, and high-volume workflows.
In addition to his role at callas, Dietrich is deeply involved in PDF standardization. He serves on the Board of Directors of the PDF Association and acts as Vice Chair and ISO Liaison Officer, contributing to the development of PDF specifications and their adoption across print, archival, and enterprise workflows.
