Breaking Good
Session description
PDF has never been a static or stagnant technology – to stay relevant PDF must adapt to the needs of content and its many stakeholders.
Although more recent PDF changes have been important, they didn’t “break PDF” and offered new capabilities with backward compatibility or “opt in” possibilities. However, this only moves PDF forward in small increments. This talk covers the very serious subject of how PDF must get broken in order to adopt certain new capabilities – an issue that the PDF industry has not faced for over 20 years! Through effective change management, market communication, and appreciation of user experience, “breaking PDF” can offer leading PDF organizations new opportunities while retaining the trust in PDF as a reliable electronic document format.
