Writing in Government Computing News, PDF Executive Director Duff Johnson highlights NARA's recently-published draft strategic plan and its stated objective of eliminating paper as a medium for records by the end of 2022. He points out that PDF is not just the only obvious choice for a document records-keeping medium, but it's almost inevitable.
Even so, he argues, agencies and other organizations have a long way to go before they are fully leveraging the world's de facto electronic document format.
