PDF 1.7, the final Adobe edition of the PDF specification, was published in 2006, and converted to an ISO standard in 2008. Since then, Working Group 8 of ISO TC 171 SC 2 has worked for nine years to overhaul the document; correcting errors, improving documentation and in some cases, entirely rewriting the definition of features.
