Adobe’s Standards Support Endowment renewed for 2024
Adobe’s Standards Support Endowment, now in its sixth year, facilities administration of ISO TC 171 SC 2 and sustains the continuing development of specifications and standards for PDF technology.January 5, 2024 – Berlin, Germany. In accordance with its ongoing commitment to ISO standards for PDF technology, Adobe, a Partner member of the PDF Association, has renewed its Standards Support Endowment for 2024, a payment to PDF Association, Inc., the ANSI-appointed standards manager for ISO TC 171 SC 2 and the US sister organization of the PDF Association, e.V.
The Standards Support Endowment supplements PDF Association membership dues to support administration of ISO TC 171 SC 2 and to sustain the continuing development of new and updated ISO specifications and standards for PDF technology. Starting in 2023 the Endowment also helps to make possible the availability of the latest PDF specification, ISO 32000-2 at no cost.
"Now in its sixth year, we are proud that Adobe's Standards Support Endowment continues to facilitate the PDF Association's ongoing vital work sustaining and developing PDF and related specifications and standards," said Leonard Rosenthol, Adobe’s Senior Principal Architect for PDF and a member of the PDF Association's Board of Directors.
PDF Association CEO Duff Johnson said; "Together with the PDF Association's membership dues from companies around the world, Adobe's endowment helps makes it possible for the PDF Association to provide a vendor-neutral platform for PDF's stakeholders to engage in specifications and standards development for this globally vital technology."
As in 2023, the value of Adobe's Standards Support Endowment in 2024 is $178,800. The endowment is not exclusive; other organizations may also endow PDF Association activities, which are overseen by the PDF Association's Board of Directors.
