3D PDF User LWG

Background

The 3D PDF User Liaison Working Group is a forum for interaction between end-users of 3D PDF technology with the vendors who support them.

Objective

The group’s purpose is to:

Gather and consolidate end user requirements for 3D PDF technology
Gather and consolidate 3D end user requirements for metadata in 3D PDF

The results of 3D PDF User LWG consultations are forwarded to the 3D PDF TWG for vendor review and the Implementor Forum.

Status

As of Q4 2025 key subjects currently under discussion include, but are not limited to:

Validation properties for 3D
Javascript alternatives
Coordination with the multimedia working group

How to participate in the Working Group

Working group members may attend the working group’s online meetings – currently every two months on the third Wednesday of the month at 1605 CET / 1005 ET / 0705PT and 2005 CET / 1405 ET / 1105 PT, or review meeting notes and recordings of previous calls.

The 3D PDF User LWG is open to all PDF Association Individual, Division, Full, Partner, Institutional and Liaison members. Non-member experts who wish to participate as either Invited or Liaison experts subject to their agreement with the PDF Association’s IPR Policy and Code of Conduct. Participate via the mailing list and view mailing list archives
Participate in the approval and publication process
Access meeting recordings and notes
Access and provide comments on related ISO documents
