Interview with Vel Genov, Senior Product Manager at Datalogics, about PDF Days Europe 2018
The PDF Association staff delivers a vendor-neutral platform in service of PDF’s stakeholders.
PDF Association: At the PDF Days Europe, you will be hosting a presentation titled “Common PDF Interoperability Concerns” – what’s that about?
Vel Genov: PDF is a flexible and extensible document description language, full of features and capabilities. Different PDF viewers and processors have different strengths and weaknesses. While PDF is foremost concerned with enabling interoperability, users interact with PDF through its various implementations. This session will cover some common trouble areas for PDF processors that lead to user frustration. Attendees will also learn which trouble areas can be addressed in existing PDF documents, and some techniques for doing so.
PDF Assocation: Who is your presentation aimed at?
Vel Genov: Entry and intermediate level PDF users, and super users that process multiple PDF files in an automated workflow.
PDF Assocation: What will the people who attend your presentation be able to take away from it?
Vel Genov: We will talk about common PDF features that are often not well supported by PDF processing tools. We will focus on some of the problems, and discuss ways to spot and resolve them.
