About PDF Association staff

The PDF Association staff delivers a vendor-neutral platform in service of PDF’s stakeholders.

PDF Days Europe 2025 is the main event in this year’s PDF triathlon in Berlin!

Keynote speaker: Prof. Dr. Philipp Hacker

The PDF Association is pleased to announce that its keynote speaker on September 11 at PDF Days Europe 2025 will be Professor Dr. Philipp Hacker, Chair for Law and Ethics of the Digital Society at the European New School of Digital Studies (ENS) at European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder).

We look forward to Professor Hacker’s perspective on the interface (and collision?) of law and policy with digital document technology and AI.

Poster Sessions!

An all-new Technical Poster session allows PDF Association members to showcase their ideas while networking with other attendees. An informal venue for displaying and discussing research, work-in-progress or just ideas, posters generate discussion and feedback.

Members accepted for the Technical Posters session must station a representative at the poster during the session to answer questions. The presentation tracks do not operate during Poster sessions.

There’s limited space, so the Technical poster session is competitive. Learn more (requires member login to pdfa.org), and submit your idea today!

PDF Workshop subject announced

On September 11 and 12 2025 PDF Association CTO and ISO 32000 Project Leader Peter Wyatt will offer a two-day intensive workshop focusing on validity and correctness in PDF files.

After decades of experience leading PDF-related software development at Canon, Peter created the Arlington PDF Model, funded by DARPA’s SafeDocs program, now leveraged by veraPDF and many other applications. As such, Peter is uniquely qualified to lead a workshop that’s all about the finer points of getting PDF right.

This workshop targets the next generation of PDF experts, providing a foundational understanding for doing PDF correctly.

The knowledge gained will lift attendees' understanding of PDF to the next level, providing  the confidence and skills to safely and securely implement today’s PDF specifications, confidently understand and propose new PDF features, and help drive PDF forward. Today’s pragmatic implementation decisions can (and must!) be balanced with forward-thinking, forward-looking, and secure approaches based on advanced insights and expertise.

Whether representing PDF consuming software, PDF creation software, interactive applications, server-side technologies, embedded platform developers, forensic document analysts, or any other technical PDF stakeholder, this workshop will enhance your knowledge and understanding about PDF.

We invite developers attending PDF Days – and even those who aren’t – to attend!

Tickets will be available soon.
