SE Radio interviews Peter Wyatt & Duff Johnson on 30 years of PDF

The PDF Association staff delivers a vendor-neutral platform in service of PDF’s stakeholders.

SE Radio, a podcast for professional software developers (not PDF experts) hosted by IEEE, has just posted its episode 532; an interview with the PDF Association's CTO Peter Wyatt and CEO Duff Johnson.
In this episode, SE Radio’s Gavin Henry speaks with Wyatt and Johnson about a wide range of topics, including PDF/A, key dates in PDF history (including why 2007 was such an important year), and PDF security.
The discussion touches on redaction of information in a PDF, object models, what Adobe did right, choosing PDF versions, efficient paging of documents, DARPA's SafeDocs program, selecting a PDF SDK, the Arlington PDF Model and the industry-supported veraPDF validator. In addition, the interview addresses when to use the PDF format, javascript, validation, backward compatibility and how HTML and PDF complement each other.

I admit it took me long to recognize the innovation inherent in #PDF documents. Isn't what they deliver obvious? Weren't they always there?
Of course not! All the best for 30 years development on an interchangeable doc standard that enabled the digital #office @PDFAssociation! https://t.co/SF9Ac6JTgL— Frank Neubüser (@FNeubueser) October 8, 2022
